Kidsfest 2011

The fun is on ,less than 48 hours to go. This festival is by kids for kids set in Farnham in Surrey. The antics began last year raising funds to purchase Bishop's Meadow, a place of outstanding beauty. This plot of land holds such passion for the locals, that they set up the Bishop's Meadow Trust in order so that this wild meadow and all its inhabitance will remain there for generations to come. The fund raising goes on.

Packing For The Road
Yesterday was the summer solstice and a lovely day at that. I've been checking the inventory and packing up all that's needed for this years events. Looks like the beast may not be able make it. Some maintenance needs doing, I'm very fortunate to have a fantastic mechanic who has managed to help a great deal. But good ones are very busy. Time will tell if the beast will be with us. No Entry
For the past few days ,this site has had it's fair share of difficulties. No access, making me wonder what I was going to do and how things were going to be done. I had already delegated matters that I didn't want to deal with myself. To find that I was in stalemate and nothing was shifting so in the end it back to square one. Have you had one of those days ?

I'm gonna
How many times have you said "I'm gonna"and never really made the effort. The unfinished knitted jumper, shelving still in the packets, letter never sent, phone call never made.
So when does "I'm gonna" become it 's done. For every day a job is left another one is too do. If for every hour is spent, another is added it's no wonder the days are so short.
So give life a chance, when the "I'm gonna" passes your lips. Think about what your out there to achieve. set your self a goal and meet it.

Happy St Patrick's Day
Potatoe Cakes
We boiled and mashed two largish potatoes with a desert spoonful of spread( butter to those who like it).
Added some plain flour about four table spoons.
Mixed with the metal spoon until a dough is formed.
Roll out on a floured surface.
Cut the dough into triangles.
Fired up the stove and fried the potato cakes over a low heat with a little spread ( you can use butter if you wish.
Served up the feast with a poached egg, grilled bacon and tomatoes magic !

Some one always makes you smile
We parted with a smile, him generously giving a me a present of a plain willow wreath and a bag of Apple wood. After some thought I decided to create a bandana wreath to hang on my wall.

Up and ready to go

So it was time to take my old bike out of mothballs and give it a lease of life. Yes you can see bind weed growing though the frame and spokes .It was out of the loft and into the yard, for a while just before the change.
Cycling locally didn't feel right, once I started up again, it seemed like an age getting anywhere. I was also getting regular punchers, there was something stuck in the tyre that couldn't be found and the wheel tape had perished. So off came the terrains,

I'm so pleased that I'm getting out and about more locally and feeling better for it.

Shrove Tuesday Pancake day
Someone ate the eggs for the batter ! Luckily I had some pancakes in the freezer. So I rustled up some help from the bandana crew. They peeled and cored the apples, I sautéed them in a teaspoonful of sunflower oil, four tablespoons of hot water and desert spoonful of sugar.
We worked on assembling our pancakes, cranberry sauce first.
Then apples with syrup from the pan.
Finally a pancake on top.
Hope you enjoyed your day and got creative in the kitchen, Happy Shrove Tuesday or for those of our friends over the pond Happy Mardi Gras.
