Shrove Tuesday Pancake day

Another year goes by and we get the chance to flip our frying pans, savour pancakes and get creative with bandana designs. I had the theme of Shrove Tuesday and Mardi Gras . I decided to print this bandana to set everything in motion for a special international pancake day.




Someone ate the eggs for the batter ! Luckily I had some pancakes in the freezer. So I rustled up some help from the bandana crew. They peeled and cored the apples, I sautéed them in a teaspoonful of sunflower oil, four tablespoons of hot water and desert spoonful of sugar.




We worked on assembling our pancakes,cranberry sauce first.


Then apples with syrup from the pan.



Finally a pancake on top.

Hi, I'm so excited ! I've been testing all my frying pans to work out which one is the best one to toss my pancakes in. I've worked out that the best one to use is a nonstick and not to toss but to cook one side and grill the other then toss to finish.

I served up my pancakes with apple,strawberries and some golden syrup. Wearing my Chef's Chequered Bandana to keep with the spirit of the occasion. You can get yours here
